The classic literature was brought to life by a mix of professional actors and talented amateurs from The Courtyard’s Youth Theatre. Twelve Hampton Grange residents and staff were given the VIP treatment for a matinee performance.
Nicky Thomas, responsible for organising activities for the residents of Hampton Grange said: “The residents all really enjoyed the trip to the Courtyard they were all very excited! We were treated like VIPs, had our own box, all the staff were amazing and everyone really enjoyed the experience.”
“Activities are a vital part of day to day life in a Rotherwood care home” said Dr Elizabeth Stark, registered manager of Hampton Grange. “It’s vital that we ensure our residents are mentally stimulated as well as cared for physically so we hold a daily variety of activities to suit all abilities.”
“Trips out of the home can be tricky to organise due to the different resident’s requirements, but Nicky, the carers and the staff at the Courtyard made it very easy. We’ll definitely be looking to do something like this again!”
Sitting alongside Gwen Walford House, another Rotherwood Group care home, Hampton Grange has been providing services to Hereford in some form for over 100 years and plays an important role in the Hereford community. From supporting local community projects to hosting local fundraising events, these shared experiences bring together residents, staff and the community creating a bond that lasts a lifetime.
Combining shared experiences, good food, luxury accommodation and high-quality care ensures a Rotherwood Group care home stands out from the crowd and provides a first class home from home experience.
Rotherwood Group owns and runs 6 care homes across the West Midlands. Gwen Walford House was awarded a “Top 20 Care Homes West Midlands Award 2017” by carehome.co.uk and Hampton Grange the same honour in 2016.
