At Lynhales we firmly believe that providing an appetising range of food can make a significant contribution to the health and well-being of our residents.
Our fresh food is locally sourced and carefully prepared from our 5 Star rated kitchens*.
The menus are varied and nutritious with three hot meals being served every day.
These are available at set times but anyone can request tea, coffee or a snack at other times. Fresh fruit is always available in the home. In addition, special diets are catered for, for example soft or diabetic diets and we always welcome suggestions or individual requests from our residents or families.
Meals can be taken in the elegant dining room or in the residents’ own room if preferred.
We also hold a monthly Nutrition Meeting – a group of key staff who keep a close eye on each resident’s nutritional intake and monitor any significant changes (up or down) in their weight. Residents and their families/friends are invited to participate in these meetings and quite often we find that solutions to any problems can come from the simplest of suggestions. For example, we recently introduced a “take away” box for residents who find it difficult to remain seated at mealtimes. This enables them to eat whilst “on the go”, avoiding unnecessary stress but ensuring they still have a nutritious meal.
