Herefordshire Homes go yellow for the Great Daffodil Appeal

Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford in Hereford, as well as Kington Court and Lynhales Hall in Kington, each hosted a Marie Curie coffee morning on 3rd March, welcoming families, friends and community members to support the Great Daffodil Appeal.

One of the UK’s leading end-of life charities, the Marie Curie Great Daffodil Appeal helps support everyone through all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Wearing your daffodil and taking part in the Great Daffodil Appeal helps ensure that everyone gets the care and support they need towards the end of their lives.

Staff at Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford were suitably dressed as daffodils, as guests tucked into coffee and cake. The team were thrilled to raise an impressive £200 for the charity. While guests at Lynhales Hall were treated to entertainment from singer, Hugh, as residents united with their family members. Norman and his wife were proud winners of the Lynhales Hall quiz. The lounge at Kington Court was awash with yellow balloons, tablecloths, and daffodils. Residents and guests enjoyed slices of lemon sponge with tea and coffee, raising £127.

Vicky Craddock, Chief Operating Officer at Rotherwood Healthcare, said:
“The Marie Curie events were valuable opportunities to unite residents, with families, friends and members of the local community whilst raising funds for charity. We are thrilled with the proceeds raised for Marie Curie and look forward to running more charity events in the future”.
