There are some people who become part of the fabric of a care home, and for Kington Court Nursing Home, Debbie is certainly one of them.
After 22 wonderful years of service, our much-loved chef has officially hung up her apron and begun a well-earned retirement.
Residents and colleagues recently gathered together to celebrate Debbie's remarkable career and thank her for the countless ways she has enriched life at Kington Court over the years. During the celebration, Debbie was presented with gifts from both Rotherwood Healthcare and the Kington Court team in recognition of her dedication, loyalty and commitment.
For more than two decades, Debbie has played an important role in daily life at Kington Court. Alongside preparing nutritious and delicious meals, she became renowned for creating beautiful birthday cakes that brought smiles to residents throughout the home.
Her kindness, sense of humour and caring nature made her a familiar and much-loved presence among residents, relatives and colleagues alike.
One colleague fondly remembered that Debbie's favourite saying was simply, "Oi!", a phrase that quickly became part of her charm and will be remembered by many.
Debbie's dedication to Kington Court was truly exceptional. During her entire 22-year career at the home, she never took a single day off sick – a reflection of her unwavering commitment to both her colleagues and the residents she cared for every day.
Everyone at Kington Court would like to thank Debbie for everything she has done over the past 22 years. Her contribution to the home has been extraordinary, and while she will be greatly missed, we wish her every happiness as she begins this exciting new chapter.
