Rotherwood Healthcare was established in 2015 by CEO John Fennell and is rooted in a strong family-driven ethos. John grew up in care homes owned and operated by his parents, giving him an early understanding of the care sector and a deep commitment to enriching the lives of older people. Combined with his strong background in finance, these experiences have shaped the foundations of Rotherwood Healthcare and its commitment to sincerity, stability, and quality.
Rotherwood initially comprised Hampton Grange, Gwen Walford and Lynhales Hall, acquired from Claridge Nursing Homes. Later that summer, Rotherwood acquired St George’s Park, followed by Dorset House in the autumn. Under Rotherwood’s care, St George’s Park underwent a significant transformation, developing into a leading provider of complex dementia care.
In 2016, Rotherwood continued to expand with the addition of Roden Hall. The home was revitalised, with Rotherwood designing a bespoke, state-of-the-art care home within its picturesque rural setting, which opened in 2019.
In 2022, Kington Court joined the Rotherwood family, followed by the opening of Colwall, our second purpose-built home, in October 2025. Each addition to the group reflects Rotherwood’s continued commitment to providing exceptional care and creating luxurious surroundings for our residents.
