At the Care Home Awards 2025
Rotherwood Healthcare was proud to be shortlisted as a finalist at the Leaders in Care Awards 2024. We were honoured with nominations in two highly coveted categories: Innovation in Care Homes and Care Provider of the Year. Being considered for these esteemed awards is a significant recognition of Rotherwood's commitment to excellence and continuous innovation in the care sector.
Rotherwood enjoyed success at the Hereford Times Health & Social Care Awards 2024, where Gwen Walford Nursing Home's dedicated staff member, Gideon Kusi, won 'The Good Nurse Award'.
The awards celebrated the hard work, dedication, innovation, and exceptional care delivered in the health and social care sector across Herefordshire, focusing on the people who make a meaningful difference. Gideon is described as someone who "brings" compassion, empathy and incredible skills".
Rotherwood is delighted to announce that we have been named finalists in several categories at the highly prestigious National Care Awards 2024. These esteemed awards celebrate excellence within the care sector, recognising individuals and organisations who tirelessly strive to deliver exceptional quality care.
The East Midlands Finance Awards (EMFA) celebrates finance and accountancy professionals across the region. Run by Distinct, the awards recognise the East Midlands as a place to build a career in the finance industry. Rotherwood’s Finance Department won ‘Finance Team of the Year (with less than 10 staff)’ award at the East Midlands Finance Award 2024.
Rotherwood celebrated a triple victory at the esteemed Care Home Awards 2024, winning the categories for: ‘Best for Staff Recruitment and Retention’, ‘Best Use of Care Management System’, and ‘Best Sustainability Initiative’.
Rotherwood collected a flurry of awards at the prestigious national Care Home Awards 2023, including ‘Best for Training and Development’, ‘Best Use of Technology & Digital Care Strategy’ as well as ‘Best for Innovation in Care’.
At the Caring UK Awards 2022 Roden Hall was runner-up for ‘Regional Care Home of the Year - Midlands and Wales’ and Dorset House won the award for ‘Quality in Housekeeping’. At the awards in 2023 St George’s Park won the ‘Quality in Housekeeping’ category A huge accolade to our teams who do a fantastic job maintaining our luxurious surroundings. Alongside this, Dorset House were runners-up in the ‘Catering Team of the Year’ and Rotherwood for the ‘Commitment to Training and Development’ category.
Rotherwood Healthcare is proud to shine once again in the carehome.co.uk Top 20 Awards 2026, earning prestigious recognition. In 2026, Rotherwood Healthcare has been named a Top 20 Mid-Size Care Home Group alongside five of its homes achieving Top 20 Care Home status in the West Midlands — an outstanding achievement that reflects the dedication, compassion, and professionalism of teams across the group.
These awards are based on reviews from residents and their families and highlight Rotherwood's continued commitment to enriching the lives of the older generation and exceptional resident experiences. This recognition reinforces Rotherwood Healthcare's values and ongoing focus on wellbeing, safety, and excellence in everything they do.
We were shortlisted for 3 awards at the prestigious Caring UK Awards 2021, including ‘Care Group of the Year’ and St George’s Park for ‘Excellence and Innovation in Dementia Care and are proud to say Roden Hall went home the winner of ‘Regional Care Home of the Year - Midlands and Wales’
Rotherwood were awarded ‘Business of the Year’, ‘Employer of the Year’ and highly commended for ‘Best for Use of Technology’ at the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Awards 2022. Whilst at the awards in 2023, Rotherwood were crowned winners of ‘Best for Use of Technology’.
Oana Gidofalvi, Clinical Lead at Gwen Walford won ‘Excellence in Nursing Award’, along with John Sperry Unit at Lynhales Hall winning the ‘Mental Health Award’ and ‘Overall Outstanding Achievement’ at the Hereford Times Health and Social Care Awards 2022. At the recent, 2023 awards Clinical Lead Rhodora Cunanan was crowned winner for ‘The Good Nurse Award’.
Rotherwood Healthcare was crowned ‘Employer of the Year’ at the Herefordshire Business Awards 2022. The annual awards commend talent and achievement in businesses across the region.
