Residents including Linda, Elizabeth, Patrick, Harold, Carol, Christine, Jean, Sue, Frank, Pat, Rosemary, Alex, Janet, Vicky, Maureen, Sylvia and David, along with their families and dedicated staff members, all eagerly gathered around the TV, ready to experience the exhilarating match.
Decorations adorned the Golden Oak Pub, transforming the space with a sea of red and white. The iconic St George’s Cross fluttered while residents settled into the comfortably place seating, anticipation in the air. There was a themed buffet spread, featuring a gala pie, pickles, crisps, cheese and pineapple sticks and even some olives as a nod to the opposing team.
Karen Robinson, the Lifestyle Coordinator at Roden Hall, said:
“As the final whistle blew, it may not have been the outcome that was hoped for but there was a huge sense of pride for the Lionesses and their achievement. It showcased not only our passion for football but a sense of unity at Roden Hall. We revelled in the company of one another and made memories that we will treasure long into the future.”
