Carole, a resident at Colwall, travelled to Worcester in the home’s minibus to visit her daughter Jayne, who has multiple sclerosis and uses a wheelchair. As Carole also has mobility difficulties, the team supported her on the challenging journey to Jayne’s flat.
With Shelley, the Home Manager, and Clare, Activities Coordinator, by her side, Carole was able to navigate the steep route and finally see her daughter again.
Carole’s husband and Jayne’s dad, Dennis, said:
“It was absolutely wonderful for them both to see each other again. It was a very, very happy occasion really. They were making new memories together. It was fantastic.”
The family also shared a special moment when Carole and Dennis gave Jayne a family Bible, passed down since 1893, containing treasured memories and old birthday cards.
Shelley said:
“We knew how much it meant to Carole to be able to see her daughter, so we were very happy that we could support her and help make the visit happen. It was a very special day for both of them.”
The family hopes this will be the first of many more visits together.
