At Roden Hall, Activity Co-ordinator Karen Robinson is a finalist for Activity Co-ordinator of the Year after taking two residents receiving palliative care to the seaside for fish and chips and a paddle in the sea. She also uses music and humour to encourage residents to try new things, including helping one resident discover a love of Boccia.
Also at Roden Hall, Sijo George has been named a finalist for Sponsored International Worker of the Year after accompanying a resident to her granddaughter’s wedding on his day off, helping her be part of an important family occasion.
Jack Eccleston, Roden Hall’s Chef, is a finalist for Chef/Catering Team Member of the Year, recognised for his themed Sushi, Steak and Italian evenings and his commitment to adapting meals around residents’ preferences and dietary needs.
At St George’s Park, Registered Nurse and Clinical Lead Grant Roberts is a finalist for Registered Nurse of the Year. His nomination highlights his calm clinical approach, including a time when he spotted subtle changes in a resident’s condition and acted quickly to secure medical intervention.
