Roden Hall Care Home, set in the picturesque Shropshire countryside, is celebrating a highly successful year of fundraising following its 2025 charity partnership with Cuan Wildlife Rescue.

At the start of 2025, Roden Hall announced Cuan Wildlife Rescue as its chosen charity for the year, reflecting the home’s strong commitment to community involvement and meaningful causes. Based in Much Wenlock, Cuan Wildlife Rescue plays a vital role in rescuing, rehabilitating and releasing sick, injured and orphaned wild animals across Shropshire and beyond.

Throughout the year, residents, staff, families and members of the wider community came together to support the charity through a wide range of community-themed events. These included fayres, sponsored walks, coffee mornings, craft activities, bake sales and raffles — all aimed at raising both awareness and essential funds.

The partnership culminated in a celebratory gathering in the Berrington café at Roden Hall, where residents reflected on a fantastic year of teamwork and generosity. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, an impressive £1,108.17 was raised in support of Cuan Wildlife Rescue.

The funds will be directed towards creating an improved swan rehabilitation pool, enabling injured swans to recover safely before being released back into the wild.

Mia Telfer, Lifestyle Coordinator at Roden Hall Care Home, said:
“We have been absolutely delighted with the success of this partnership. Supporting Cuan Wildlife Rescue has not only helped an incredible local charity but has also given our residents a genuine sense of purpose and a stronger connection to the wider community. It perfectly reflects our values of compassion, care and meaningful community engagement.”

A special thank you was extended to Tina from Cuan Wildlife Rescue, who worked closely with residents throughout the year, offering support and guidance with fundraising activities and helping to make the partnership such a success.

Roden Hall Care Home would like to thank everyone who took part, donated, or supported events throughout the year, making 2025 a memorable year of giving back, community spirit and positive impact.
