Residents, families, team members and members of the local community came together at Lynhales Hall’s summer fête to raise money for the home’s chosen charity, the
Herefordshire Veterans Support Centre (HVSC). The fundraising has now resulted in a fantastic
£846 donation.
The cheque was recently presented to Cherry and Bob Tucker, volunteers for HVSC, during one of Lynhales Hall’s regular coffee mornings.
Home Manager Anne-Marie Duggan said:
“It’s been a privilege to support such an important local charity. Our summer fête brought residents, families and the wider community together, and it’s lovely to know that the money raised will help support veterans and the wider military community.”
HVSC supports veterans and the wider military community across Herefordshire, providing support and helping to build connections within the local community.
The charity was chosen because of Lynhales Hall’s connection with the Armed Forces, including caring for residents living with dementia and previous residents who were veterans. Conversations with relatives and friends also helped the team learn more about support available to veterans and their families, leading to the introduction of the home’s Afternoon Tea events earlier this year.
For everyone at Lynhales Hall, the fundraising has been about more than simply reaching a target. It has created opportunities for residents, families and the wider community to come together while supporting a charity that is particularly meaningful to the home.
