At Roden Hall, the day was filled with fun, kicking off with a Coffee Morning where residents gathered to enjoy an array of delicious cakes crafted by the home's talented Kitchen Team. Guests indulged in baked goods such as mouth-watering carrot cake, rich chocolate cake, and creamy cheesecake. Local pianist John Ellis graciously provided musical entertainment free of charge, enhancing the warm and charitable atmosphere. Roden Hall successfully raised £75 for
Macmillan Cancer Support, contributing to the ongoing fight against cancer.
Their celebrations continued in the afternoon with a heartfelt church service led by Reverend Ian Naylor, during which residents, family members, and guests offered thanks for the harvest, the hardworking farmers, and the generous food collection. The service featured lovely hymns and tea and cake, culminating in a delightful buffet lunch at the beautifully decorated Golden Oak pub. The venue was adorned with harvest-themed décor, including a stunning pom-pom wreath created during the home's Knit & Natter sessions. The talented entertainer, Glam Sparrow, brought a lively 'Rock n Roll' performance, much to the delight of residents, making it a truly memorable day filled with music, food, and camaraderie.
St George's Park also embraced the spirit of giving with a wonderful morning service for their Harvest Festival. Following the service, residents enjoyed a Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Morning filled with delectable treats and refreshments. They were joined by the talented singer Bob's Your Uncle, who ensured the atmosphere was lively with toe-tapping tunes and sing-alongs.
In a show of community support, St George's Park donated its food collection to
Little Dragons Nursery, which supports families in need. The care home was pleased to contribute to this worthy cause, reinforcing the importance of community and support.
Roden Hall and St George's Park extend their heartfelt thanks to all who contributed to the food collection and participated in the Harvest Festival celebrations. Their efforts support local organisations and charities and foster a sense of togetherness among residents, staff, and the wider community.
