The homes were adorned with ‘red, white and blue’ and staff wore formal dress for the occasion. Residents enjoyed entertainment from a local singer as the home’s Kitchen Team diligently prepared a hog roast alongside a delicious spread of food and refreshments. In the lead up to the celebration, residents at the ‘Hampton and Gwen Art and Crafts Club’ fashioned regal crowns, masks, and union jacks.
Nicky Thomas, Lifestyle Coordinator at Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford, said:
“The King’s Coronation was an important date in our residents’ calendar. Many of us are keen Royalists so we ensured the Coronation ceremony was showcased for residents to view on 6th May and held our Coronation Party on the Bank Holiday Monday. The residents and their families thoroughly enjoyed our garden party, and it was an honour to bring together residents, families, and staff to mark a significant moment in royal history”.
