At Lynhales Hall, the home was abuzz with joy and togetherness as families, visitors, and staff gathered for a special Harvest Festival church service, led by Marina from St. Michael's and All Angels Church. The day’s events included coffee and cake, where everyone contributed to raising for
Macmillan Cancer Support. Marina expressed her gratitude for the community's generosity, saying, "Dear Lynhales Hall, just to let you know that your two wonderful hampers of food donations have been safely delivered to the food bank. They were overwhelmed and truly grateful to receive such an amazing amount of food, which will be appreciated by the many in need. With love and prayers." The day was a perfect blend of reflection, charity, and community spirit.
Over at Kington Court, the home fully embraced the changing of the seasons with autumn-themed displays. Their Macmillan Coffee Morning raised just over £100 for cancer support, with residents and guests enjoying delicious treats and a warm atmosphere. The highlight of the day was a special performance from the children of Kington Primary School, who delighted everyone with harvest festival songs and poems. In the afternoon, the local Baptist Church joined Kington Court for a heartwarming harvest service, where residents enjoyed homemade parsnip soup and freshly baked bread. To top off the celebration, the Kington Court Resident Choir gave a wonderful performance, bringing smiles all around. Special thanks were extended to Geoff & Sue at Townsend Touring Park for their generous donation of pumpkins and potatoes, Jamie Price at Ackhill Sunflowers for the beautiful sunflowers, and Kay Pritchard for the lovely flower arrangements and vegetables.
Meanwhile, Hampton Grange & Gwen Walford celebrated with a joyous church service led by Carol and Linda from St Paul’s Tupsley congregation. Residents, family, and friends were joined by special guests, the children from Lugwardine Primary Academy, whose presence added a special touch to the day. Residents remarked on how well the children did, bringing smiles and warmth to all in attendance.
Sharen Guise, Chief Operating Officer, expressed her gratitude for the outpouring of support across all three homes, saying, "The Harvest Festival celebrations have truly highlighted the strength of our community and the generosity of everyone involved. From food bank donations to the money raised for Macmillan Cancer Support, we are incredibly proud of the contributions made by residents, staff, families, and friends. These efforts not only support local charities but also foster a sense of togetherness and shared purpose."
All four care homes extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated money, contributed to the food collection and participated in the Harvest Festival celebrations. The collective efforts support local charities and foster a sense of unity and togetherness among residents, staff, and the wider community.
