The children of St Thomas Cantilupe Primary School crafted an array of colourful Easter cards for residents at Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford to judge the winning creations. The whole school entered the competition with each care home resident receiving a personalised card and message from the children. The cards were fashioned with a range of materials including colourful paper, tissue and felt. The Hampton and Gwen residents were all involved in the judging process and certainly had a tricky decision on their hands. Resident Madeline was overwhelmingly impressed by the children’s creativity.
The winners were unveiled by the Home Manager, Louise Craddock, and Lifestyle Coordinator, Nicky Thomas, during the end-of-term assembly on 8th April. Emin from the school nursery; Cooper of class R, Ola of class 1; Sebastian of class 3; Oliver of class 4; Ophelia of class 5 and Natasha of class 6T were all delighted to win a prized Easter egg each.
The Home Manager, Louise Craddock said:
“It is great for our residents to engage with the local community and linking the different generations has so many positive benefits for younger and older people. Well done to all the children for getting involved, our residents were touched by the personalised cards and messages.”
