Kington Court Plants Tree for the Platinum Jubilee

Kington Court Nursing Home has held a tree planting ceremony to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee. The ceremony took place on 2nd June and honoured the Queen’s reign.

The home held a Jubilee reception in which families were greeted with fruit punch and cupcakes before excited residents, families and staff congregated outside. Residents at the home, many of whom are keen Royalists, sung the National Anthem along to a local entertainer. Staff members, Dora and Shannon, planted the cherry tree with help of local children from Kington. Administrator, Kate Smith, did a speech before residents, Eleanor and Anthea, unveiled a ‘Queen’s Green Canopy’ plaque to commemorate the happy occasion. A buffet lunch was then served inside.

Dora Cunanan, the Clinical Lead, said:
“Residents were so excited for the Jubilee activities of the weekend. The event was a huge success made only possible by the dedicated work of team members. Residents valued the times with their families and it was great to unite the different generations to plant the tree and commemorate The Queen”.

Kington Court Nursing Home is operated by Rotherwood Healthcare and provides Residential and Nursing Care.
