Lynhales Holds Memory Walk in aid of the Alzheimer's Society

On Sunday 19th September, Lynhales Hall invited residents’ friends and family to take part in their annual Memory Walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society.

In the run up to the event, residents enjoyed creating posters - some to advertise it and some to adorn the start and finish lines – and our ever-creative resident, Pam, headed up the effort, diligently colouring new signs every day!

The walk down Lynhales’ 0.8 mile hilly and winding countryside drive may have been the main event, but refreshments and raffle prizes were also on offer throughout the beautifully sunny day. There were teas and coffees, a full buffet of tempting treats and even wines and beers served from the bar later in the day whilst Lynhales-favourite, Carol Rees Jones, entertained all with her uplifting songs.

Turn-out for this annual activity was high, with staff, residents and 30-40 family members in attendance. Many residents actively participated in the fund-raising by completing their own 1-mile walks, including 90-year-old Frank who was very happy that he could complete his mile with his friends by his side but welcomed his well-deserved lift back up the drive by minibus!

Thanks to everyone’s participation and dedication to this very worthy cause, a super-impressive total of £380 was raised

Huge congratulations to everyone involved and here’s to the 2022 Memory Walk!!
