Everyone gathered in the home’s reception for cake, before the children performed some old Christmas favourites. Aged between 6 and 8, the children visit the home on occasions throughout the year, connecting the younger and older people through intergenerational activities.
Holly Preece, the Lifestyle Coordinator at St George’s Park, said:
“Our residents were thrilled to spend time with the children, and the children love seeing the residents. We see first-hand the benefits of bringing together different generations. The children learn to be caring and kind to older people and our residents are notably upbeat after spending time with them. Thanks to the children’s Christmas choir singing, we’re feeling the Christmas spirit. We look forward to welcoming the children again during 2023!”
