Despite the poor weather, the team swiftly adapted and brought the celebration indoors, to the inviting dining room. The dedicated team at Dorset House, led by Home Manager, Karen, and the Chef Marion, went above and beyond to ensure it was an enjoyable experience for all those that attended.
One of the highlights was the presence of the Mayor, Councillor Kate Fellows and her consort, who graced the event with a heartfelt speech, commending the home’s award-wins and expressing delight during a guided tour of the facilities. The presence of Deputy Mayor, Alex Sinton, and his wife, Elena, was equally cherished, especially since Elena’s mother is a resident at Dorset House. Throughout the event, the dedicated volunteers, Jill and Ann played a pivotal role in showing visitors around and providing valuable insights into the exceptional care and luxurious surroundings provided at Dorset House.
Karen Johnson, the Home Manager of Dorset House, thanked all those who attended and contributed to the day’s success, commenting:
“We are immensely grateful to the Mayor, Councillor Kate Fellows, and her consort as well as Deputy Mayor Alex Sinton and his wife for their support and presence at our care home open day. We’re so honoured to welcome visitors into our home and proud they got a first-hand glimpse of the joyous atmosphere within our home! Thank you to all the efforts of the staff and residents as well as our guest for attending!”.
