Bringing together care providers and service users from across Herefordshire, the picnic was arranged to raise awareness of social care, recognise the work of those employed in the care sector, and unite care users to enjoy a fun day out.
Hampton Grange and Gwen Walford joined fellow Rotherwood Healthcare care home, Lynhales Hall, to enjoy picnic food in the Summer sunshine. Attendees took part in the world record attempt to photograph the most social care providers and users in a heart formation using a drone, for which 53 people took part.
Lifestyle Coordinator, Nicky Thomas, said:
"We thoroughly enjoyed coming together with other residents and care providers from across Herefordshire. Our residents loved meeting new people, especially over a picnic which has our residents reminiscing of childhood picnics in the park. It was a real celebration of the care sector and we came away feeling proud of the work we do supporting older people". Hampton Grange provides Specialist Dementia Care, while Gwen Walford offers Residential and Nursing Care.
